Indulge yourself at Amazon with a remote controlled Mercedes or Land Rover, or an RC VW Camper van that plays MP3's. Up in the sky, look for radio controlled helicopters and planes including the Silverlit RC Range which boasts the Silverlit Picoo-Z (PicooZ) helicopter, and the helicopter twin-pack which shoots lasers for aerial dog fights. For something graceful buy a Goodyear (Good Year) Blimp or a UFO flying saucer. Not so graceful is the radio controlled Blimp bomber airship which drops bombs.

Battery-operated prehistoric toys from Amazon include remote control Dinosaurs such as the sweet Pleo interactive robotic dinosaur with 100 gears, 14 motors and sensors for highly-articulated movement and the ability to see and detect objects. The popular interactive Roboraptor and Roboreptile dinosaurs are here too along with a flying Pterosaur. Girls can shop at here for a pink R.C. Barbie Beetle car or the fun roller-skating Barbie on her cute roller skates. Boys may prefer some robot-wars style battling robots or a cool dalek.

Girls may prefer a remote controlled Barbie pink Beetle Car, Bratz Snow Mobile or Bratz Movie Star R/C car. Barbie radio control Roller-Girl doll is here too on her roller skates spinning and even doing the splits.

Along with the Fast Lane brand at Toys R Us you'll find radio controlled Planes and Helicopters too such as the Picoo-Z Mini Helicopter (PicooZ) including the twin Challenger Set comprising a twin pack of dog-fighting laser-shooting helicopters ! On the rails, young children will appreciate a BRIO Remote Control Express Train (which runs on BRIO track), or a 'Fun Years' car ideal for beginners. Otherland

On the ground, choose from some great radio controlled luxury car models at Otherland such as a Porsche, Mercedes or Aston Martin DBR9; their VW Camper is not only a cool radio control vehicle but also an MP3 player. Bigger still, try an Eddie Stobart lorry or R.C. fire engine. They've heaps of off-road vehicles and all-terrain vehicles too including Monster Trucks, and tanks such as the Abrams Desert Tank and infra-red Mini Battling Tanks.

Along with boats and R.C. hovercrafts they've fun stuff at Otherland too including spiders, rats, birds and dragonfly. Transformers robots too !

Bright Minds

Take to the skies with a Picoo-Z Mini Helicopter (PicooZ) from Bright Minds allegedly the lightest and smallest infra-red RC heli's in the world. There's a cool Picoo-Z helicopter in camouflage design and a rather jazzy 'Pinky' design too that girls may prefer. Alternatively, buy a 1 metre long radio controlled Blimp Bomber that drops foam bombs onto a numbered target; most florists can supply the helium or you can buy your own bottle of helium. Other flying toys include a Mini Biplane (for both indoors and outdoors on a calm day) and the Air Acrobat Plane.

For some cheeky fun, buy a radio control spider (a tarantula complete with hairy legs!) from Bright Minds, or maybe just trick the neighbours with a Vectron remote control UFO flying saucer.

They've some blingin' wheels at Maplin including a Range Rover, Volkswagen Beetle or Ferrari. If you like a challenge then try the Meccano 595 Piece R/C Construction Set. They've some crazy remote control toys too such as a Soccer Bots football game, bumper cars, horse racing, spiders and Sumo Wrestlers.

NitroTek

If you like tanks then Nitrotek can sell you a Mini BB Battle Tank that fires real 6mm plastic BB bullets. Top of the range is the Snow Leopard Tank which is a large 1/16th scale model with sounds and smoke generator. Skyward, how about a cool remote controlled glider or maybe Apache helicopters that fire infra-red beams at each other for an aerial dogfight?

Other toys to buy on-line from Nitrotek include Robone, the remote controlled Robot, who's the first robot based on the science of applied biomorphic robotics (!?); they've a RC Dinosaur too. Perfect small gifts for stocking fillers would be micro radio controlled cars, unlike the giant 1/6 Scale remote Control Fork Lift Construction Vehicle. The 'Spy Superior' Spy Car is a cool gadget with built-in spy camera, microphone and infrared night vision.

Argos

Take a spin to Argos for some speedy cars like a Mitsubishi, remote control Subaru Impreza WRC, rally style Honda Civic or nippy Mini Cooper S. The Tyco remote controlled Rapid Assault Vehicle has a rapid-fire, 12-shot cannon that fires foam darts.

Argos also sell a remote control Dinosaur and R/C Dragonfly to complete your collection of radio controlled dinosaurs and dragonflys. The fully articulated JCB crane from Argos (controlled by wires) is a neat Construction Vehicle that can rotate and raise or lower a hook.

If you're looking for a sci-fi robot, retro VW camper van , submarine or R.C. Barbie Beetle car or roller-skating Barbie then you'll probably find them on Ebay. There's usually a diverse range of remote control construction and farm vehicles too including Tractors, JCB style Diggers, bulldozers, CAT style excavators, cranes and trucks.

Always know exactly what you're getting and not getting. Used toys and products will not always be in good condition or perfect working order. Sets will not always be complete. Always ask the seller first.

Woolworths

For some action, there are Monster Trucks or stunt cars. For younger children there's a Noddy Car or Chad Valley Remote Control Car which is suited to young learner drivers.

For something entirely different, Woolworths can sell you a soaring, diving, fluttering Primeval Flytech Rex, and tots can enjoy a Chad Valley R.C. dinosaur (called David or Dianne).

Girls will love a Barbie remote control doll on roller skates.

RC Scale

What you may like best about RC Scale is their cool choice of remote control Tanks. For example, at almost 2 feet in length the German Tiger Tank is a mighty battling model; it's 1/16th scale, it shoots BB bullets, has a built-in smoke generator and sounds too. There are other battle tanks to choose from, most of which fire 6mm BB pellets.
